Agile is a term that is being used more and more relative to the workplace. The challenge is that it has different definitions to different groups – FM’s and designers use it to define a way of planning space and/or a way to work. IT and product development teams use it to define a very specific development process. For FM’s and designers, the types of spaces included in an ‘agile’ workplace may not, at least initially, seem that new or unique. However, when you understand the degree of adaptability and flexibility very purposely designed into the different workspaces and how they are planned, their ‘uniqueness’ is really obvious.
