Chicago Resource Center acheived LEED for
Commercial Interiors certification.
This Merchandise Mart showroom is shared by Allsteel and Gunlocke (Allsteel's sister company).
It is an active display space that changes routinely to support the demands of ongoing product
introductions and NeoCon, the annual contract furniture show in June. The showroom expresses the
straightforward Midwestern style of Chicago and Allsteel with many open, flexible product display
areas set against a more neutral interior backdrop.

Unique details:
- Million-dollar views of Chicago and the Chicago River.
- Wood tile flooring that is made of reclaimed wood beams from barns in Indiana.
- Large scale recycled aluminum tile flooring.
- The Community Center's "napkin sketch" table. Guests are invited to capture their design thoughts
and concepts on cocktail napkins and have their sketches added under the glass top.
Most outrageous thing ever said in/about the showroom:
After spring 2008's renovation and expansion, a visitor stated, "I cannot believe this is the same space! It's simply stunning."
